Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 26, 2026
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Nu-Bot (“we”, “the service”) collects and uses information when you use the Discord bot or the web dashboard at nubot.net.
2. Information we collect
Discord bot
- User IDs — to run moderation, levels, stats, bumps, and other features.
- Guild (server) IDs — to store per-server settings.
- Moderation data — points, case history, notes, and related records you create through bot commands.
- Activity statistics — message counts, voice time, joins/leaves, and similar aggregated server stats.
- Invite statistics — invite counts and who invited whom, when invite tracking is active.
- Configuration — channels, roles, toggles, and other settings you set via Discord or the dashboard.
Web dashboard
- Discord OAuth — when you log in, we receive your Discord user ID, username, and avatar URL.
- Guild list — servers you belong to and permission flags, to show servers you may manage.
- Session cookie — to keep you logged in to the dashboard (see Cookies below).
3. Cookies
The dashboard at nubot.net uses a small number of cookies. The Discord bot itself in your server does not set website cookies.
Strictly necessary session cookie
When you log in to the dashboard, we set a session cookie so you stay signed in until you log out or the session expires. Without it, the dashboard cannot keep you authenticated.
- What it contains: An encrypted session identifier tied to your login — not your Discord password.
- Who sets it: Nu-Bot dashboard (nubot.net only).
- Third-party cookies: We do not use advertising or analytics cookies on the dashboard.
- Discord OAuth: Logging in briefly redirects you to Discord’s site; Discord may set its own cookies under their privacy policy.
- How to remove it: Use Log out on the dashboard, or clear cookies for nubot.net in your browser.
4. How we use information
- Operate bot features and store server settings.
- Authenticate dashboard users and enforce Manage Server / Administrator access.
- Maintain service reliability and fix issues.
5. Storage
Data is stored on secure servers (currently hosted in the EU). We use a SQLite database for bot data and session storage for dashboard login.
6. Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. Information is processed through Discord’s API as required for the bot to function. We do not share data with third parties for advertising.
7. Retention
Data is kept while Nu-Bot remains in your server and as needed to operate features. Removing the bot stops new collection; existing stored data may remain until manually cleared or deleted as part of service maintenance.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Server administrators can manage much of the data through bot commands. For other requests, contact the bot operator.
9. Children
Nu-Bot is not directed at children under 13. Discord’s minimum age rules apply.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do.
11. Contact
For privacy questions, join the Nu-Bot support server or contact the bot operator via the dashboard.
